GOUVERNEUR -- State police say a Gouverneur pair recently charged with child endangerment are facing the count for allegedly selling narcotics in front of their four daughters, ages 2, 7, 8 and 9.
Joshua R. Daniels, 32, and Ashley L. Fuller, 24, were charged Friday. Daniels had previously been charged with second-degree burglary.
The children have since been removed by county Child Protective Services and are in the care of relatives, troopers said.
Troopers allege that Daniels broke into a house on county Route 12 in the Town of Gouverneur and entered without the homeowner’s permission while she was not home.
He stole hydrocodone pills, gabapentin pills and fentanyl patches, according to state police.
He and Fuller allegedly later sold the drugs in front of the children, troopers said.
Daniels was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond.
Fuller was released under the supervision of probation and is to reappear in the Town of Gouverneur Court on April 2 at 3 p.m.
