GOUVERNEUR -- A Gouverneur man was sent to federal prison on Thursday for child pornography, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Frank Daniels, 37, will spend five years behind bars and undergo 15 years of post-release supervision for one count of distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Richard Hartunian said.

Law enforcement seized Daniels’ computer as part of the investigation. They discovered 234 videos of children engaging in sexual conduct, which he downloaded from the internet, Hartunian said.

Daniels pleaded to the charge on Dec. 3.

Homeland Security Investigations in Massena investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Katherine Kopita was the prosecutor.
