GOUVERNEUR – A Gouverneur man faces multiple charges after he punched and allegedly threatened to kill a woman.
State police responded to a Gouverneur residence at 2 a.m. Monday. Their investigation at the scene revealed that Christopher L. Sweet, 33, of Gouverneur, punched the 28-year-old female victim in the face and threatened to kill her.
The victim declined medical treatment.
Sweet was arrested and charged with Assault 3rd Degree, a class A Misdemeanor, and Menacing 3rd Degree, a class B Misdemeanor.
Sweet was arraigned in the Town of Fowler Court where he was released to the supervision of St. Lawrence County Probation and is to reappear in the Town Gouverneur Court on October 16, 2016 at 3 p.m.
