GOUVERNEUR – St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies charged a Gouverneur man with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle accident at 9:10 p.m. Saturday that left one person injured.

Mark A. Wilson, 44, Gouverneur, has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and failing to stop at a stop sign. He will answer the charges in court at a later date.

According to deputies, Wilson allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Co. Rt. 11 and Maple Ridge Road while driving his Chevy pickup truck.

Percy D. Filiatrault, 62, Gouverneur, was unable to avoid the Wilson vehicle as it crossed Co. Rt. 11 in front of his Ford Ranger, deputies report.

Filiatrault's passenger, wife Karen Filiatrault, 59, was transported to EJ Noble Hospital with minor injuries. She was treated and released.

Both men signed off on medical treatment.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

The sheriff's department was assisted by Gouverneur Village Police officers and Gouverneur Fire and Rescue.
