HAILESBORO – Two Gouverneur men have been charged with felonies in connection with burglaries reported to state police Monday.
Tyrone T. Aldridge, 24, is accused of third-degree burglary: illegal entry with intent.
State police believe he entered Garden Scape Mill on Main Street in Hailesboro three separate times and took steel and other assorted metal equipment valued in excess of $4,500. Aldridge allegedly took the stolen property to a scrap yard and received money for the items as scrap metal.
Aldridge was arraigned in Town of Fowler Court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $,2500 cash or $5,000 bond.
Also arrested was Tad M. Nichols, 27, charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Police allege that Nichols provided transportation for Aldridge to bring the metal to the scrap yard, knowing the items had been stolen.
Nichols was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Town of Fowler Court at 6 p.m. April 11.
