MADRID – St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Gouverneur man for allegedly claiming to be his brother and driving without a license Wednesday after pulling him over for speeding on Hwy. 310.
Deputies say they stopped Dean J. McIntosh, 30, of 5 Mill St., Gouverneur, for speeding. When asked for his license, McIntosh reportedly told the deputy he didn’t have his license with him and gave the officer a verbal identification.
An assisting officer who showed up at the scene was familiar with the operator and knew the name he had provided was that of his brother.
McIntosh was arrested for false personation.
A check with his real name showed that he had a revoked driver’s license, and he was arrested for unlicensed operation as well.
He was issued tickets to appear in Madrid Town Court at a later date.
