GOUVERNEUR -- An Edwards family with a son suffering from leukemia will benefit from the G3 Training Center's "Unite, Fight and Knockout Leukemia" run/walk on Aug. 24.

The event starts at 9 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m. at the G3 Boxing Club, 1696 State Hwy. 812, Balmat.

Cost is $10, or $20 for those who want to get a shirt. Kids under age 7 are free.

Participants can choose to take a 1-mile or 4-mile course.

The event will include gift basket raffles for kids and adults. Strandz Salon will offer orange hair extensions and head shaving.

Proceeds will go to Justin and Cheyenne Whitford of Edwards to help them offset costs associated with their 4-year-old son’s leukemia treatments.
