To the Editor:
Thank you to all who came out to support Sgt. First Class Peter Barkley and the 630th RCC out of Fort Drum. A fundraiser was held on Saturday, May 19, at The Hotel Grande in Norfolk.
With the proceeds from this fundraiser and the generous donations of supplies, packages will be sent to Afghanistan in support of our soldiers. Sgt. First Class Barkley is in charge of a platoon of 36 men whose mission is currently route clearance in Afghanistan. This is Peter Barkley’s fourth deployment. When he is not deployed, he lives in Norfolk with his wife and two children.
Thank you to Craig and Sandra Alford, Anne Snow and the staff at The Hotel Grande for all of your help and support. To all who helped organize, guest bartended and provided donations, thank you.
