GOUVERNEUR – Four men were jailed Friday for allegedly trying to use counterfeit money to make purchases at Dollar General, 124 West Main St, according to Gouverneur police.

Josiah Median, 19, Syracuse; Darren B. Pinckney Jr., 19, Bronx; Joncarlos Urban, 19, Brooklyn were taken into custody on Clinon Street, officers said.

During the traffic stop Pinckney was cite for depositing refuse on a highway and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. Median was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, officers said.

All four were arraigned in Fowler court before Justice Paul Lamson. Medina, Pinckney and Urban were remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Paulino was remanded to jail on $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
