NORWOOD -- A former Norwood police officer accused of receiving a bribe while on duty has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Seth D. Donalis, 32, is facing a felony count of third-degree bribe receiving and a misdemeanor official misconduct charge.

He denied the charges during his arraignment in St. Lawrence County Court on Monday, where he was represented by attorney James L. Riotta, according to the St. Lawrence County Court Clerk’s Office.

The case is adjourned until July 23 at 1:30 p.m. for a pre-trial discovery conference, according to the court clerk’s office.

Donalis was charged in January. WWNY reported he is accused of receiving a sexual favor as a bribe while working as a Norwood patrolman.

In an unrelated case, a second Norwood police officer charged with a felony will make a second court appearance at the end of July.

Christopher Ghostlaw, 42, will make an appearance in front of Massena Village Justice Patrick Serguson on July 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Ghostlaw is accused of stealing nearly $30,000 from Home Depot while working there, off duty. He is charged with third-degree grand larceny, felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor, on May 17. Police at the time said they discovered a crack pipe in his shoe while arresting him for the theft.
