Former Rep. David O'B. Martin will officially endorse Matt Doheny for Congress at a news conference in Watertown Thursday.
Matt Doheny, a businessman from of Watertown, is the Republican and Independence Party candidate for New York State's 23rd Congressional District seat.
David O'Brien Martin is a Canton native and was representative from the 23rd District from 1981 to 1993. He was instrumental in bringing the 10th Mountain Division to Fort Drum in Jefferson County. He has been a lobbyist with the National Soft Drink Association and president of Martin, Fisher, Thompson & Associates, a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm.
The announcement will be made at 2 p.m. at Doheny for Congress Watertown Headquarters, HSBC Bank Building, 107 Court St.
Both men will take questions about issues in the 23rd District, the upcoming Republican primary, and the general election in November.
