MASSENA – Five Massena boys have been charged with felony criminal mischief after vehicles in a used car lot were damaged by BBs or pellets, and a Massena man is accused of endangering the welfare of a child.
The unnamed boys were also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under the age of 16.
The boys, ranging in age from 11 to 13, were charged by state police Sept. 19 after an investigation that began on June 27.
On that date, troopers received a complaint from O&B Auto Sales, 15120 State Rt. 37, Louisville, that several of their vehicles had been damaged.
The damage is estimated at $5,700, according to police.
In the course of their investigation, troopers said there were two other developments.
An ATV stolen June 4 or 5 from O&B was recovered, and a petit larceny charge might be laid.
And Doug Wilson, 35, was charged Sept. 19 with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The boys were issued appearance tickets.
