FINE -- State forest rangers with fire fighters from Star Lake, Newton Falls, Fine, Edwards, Russell and Cranberry Lake responded to the scene of a wildfire on May 18 near the corner of Twin Lake Road and Route 3 in Star Lake, said the DEC.
A press release from the Department of Environmental Conservation said the fire moved quickly through leaf litter in the hardwood forest but quickly came under controlled status.
Just over 10 acres burned during the incident.
An investigation determined the fires were started by equipment along the road.
