POTSDAM -- Eight Potsdam-area college students were charged following an underage drinking party that sent several people to the hospital.
Potsdam Police investigated the incident after students were treated for "acute alcohol intoxication" over the weekend of Nov. 18.
Police discovered all of the students had attended the same gatherings in Potsdam where alcohol was served to underage adults.
Potsdam police said seven Clarkson University Students and one SUNY Potsdam student, "worked in concert with one another" to host a party where alcohol was served.
The seven Clarkson students were charged with ten counts of misdemeanor unlawfully dealing with a minor and a single count of prohibited sale of alcohol.
Police said the party was held at a Bay Street Potsdam residence informally known as the Clarkson Swim House.
Zimmerman was determined to have hosted a party at his Market Street residence as well. Zimmerman was charged with 11 counts of misdemeanor unlawfully dealing with a minor in the first-degree and one count of prohibited sale of alcohol.
Police said all of the students cooperated with the investigation.
University Police assisted in the investigation.
