GOUVERNEUR – An Edwards man was jailed Friday following a reported domestic dispute in which he allegedly struck, kicked, choked and bit a 16-year-old female, according to state police.
Ryan M. Weir, 22, was charged with aggravated family offense, felony, third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana, officers said.
Police say they received a report on Thursday around 10 p.m. that Weir and the victim were involved in an altercation and Weir reportedly hit, choked and bit the female.
Weir was arraigned in the Fowler Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail in Canton on bail, troopers said.
