The Edwards Fire Department was one of many fire and EMS companies to respond to the heaviest hit areas of this state after Tropical Storm Irene came barreling through on Sunday.
The department made the trip to South Plattsburgh for assistance in the storm relief.
The department's 4X4 Dodge responded with a crew of three carrying chain saws, lights, and various tools and experience to perform duties that were needed to protect the public in Clinton County.
"This was one way of returning the favor of those who helped the North Country during the dreaded Ice Storm of 1998," says Fire Chief Dale Barker. "The fire service has a brotherhood and sisterhood like no other and that, time and time again, gets proven when times are tough."
