POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was arrested by village police July 21 at 10:06 p.m. for allegedly driving drunk.
Lawrence J. Loomis, 51, of Potsdam was charged with failure to turn as required, failure to yield right of way on a left turn, driving while intoxicated, and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent.
Police said Loomis was observed driving straight through a left turn only lane on Market Street at the intersection with Elm. Loomis then failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle on Maple Street, said Police.
After being pulled over by police, Loomis was found to be intoxicated and transported back to the Potsdam Police Department for processing. Loomis’ blood alcohol content was determined to be .15 percent.
Loomis was ticketed, released and is scheduled to appear to in town court on Aug. 15 at 10 a.m.
