Dozens of organizations in St. Lawrence County could lose their tax-exempt status, according to the Internal Revenue Service.

The IRS has released a list of organizations that have failed to file required tax forms three years in a row, which will automatically cause them to lose their tax-exempt status.

However, the IRS is providing a one-time relief opportunity for those organizations to help them avoid having to reapply to seek non-profit status.
