POTSDAM -- A meth bust in Potsdam resulted in felony drug chargese.
Zachary D. Linsky, 23, was charged with one count each of unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, according to Potsdam Police.
Police discovered meth-making components while investigating a domestic dispute at 79 1/2 Elm St. Apt. A after getting complaints of screaming and pounding on the wall around 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
Patrols found Linsky in the rear of the building, which police say violated a court order barring him from being near one of the building’s occupants. He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, police said.
He complained of a chemical burn to his arm, which he sustained during the dispute, and was treated at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, police said.
Patrols requested assistance from Potsdam Fire Department for “unknown smoke and noxious gas and chemical odor inside” the apartment and also evacuated the building, police said.
Investigators say they obtained a search warrant and allegedly found reagents, solvents, catalysts and lab equipment used to make meth.
The St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force and New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team were involved.
Linsky was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond on the meth charge and $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond on the contempt count.
