The leadership of the labor union that represents many government workers in St. Lawrence County has endorsed Democrat Aaron Woolf for Congress in New York’s 21st District.
“If we are to turn our economy around and put people back to work, making decent wages with decent benefits, we will need more elected officials like Aaron Woof who will fight to maintain a dignified middle-class in America,” said Danny Donohue, New York State Civil Service Employees Association president.
Over 300,000 active and retired public and private sector employees across the state belong to New York State’s CSEA.
Woolf is also endorsed by, among others, New York State’s AFLI-CIO, New York State’s Public Employees Federation (PEF), and 1199SEIU (United Healthcare Workers East).
Woolf is a documentary filmmaker and small businessman from New York who lives now in Elizabethtown.
He is running against Washington Republican analyst Elie Stefanik, who moved to Willsboro last year, and Glens Falls baker and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello for the North Country congressional seat that incumbent Democrat Bill Owens is not seeking again.
