CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District accepts orders for tree seedlings and shrubs through Friday, April 1.
Small one- to three-year-old bare root seedlings are available with prices from 80 cents to $6.20 each depending on the species. Offered are pines, spruces, firs, cedar, paper birch, sugar maple, red maple, black cherry, bur oak, black walnut, and hybrid poplar. Also available are flowering crabapple, wild plum, wild apple, purple lilac, juneberry, blueberry, cranberry, raspberry, flowering dogwood, Nanking cherry, winterberry, rugosa rose, pussy willow, and mountain ash.
