POTSDAM – The St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force and Potsdam Police Department arrested three people Wednesday as the result of investigations into drug sales on the Clarkson University campus and in the village.
Daniel R. Grant, 22, 230 Chapel Hill Rd., Colton was charged at 11 a.m. with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, while appearing in court for a separate probation violation. He was charged as a result of task force investigation into the sale of cocaine in the village.
Grant was remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He will appear in court at a later date.
Jordan P. Yells, 21, Waterloo, was charged at 9 a.m. at the Riverside Apartments on Clarkson University with third-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a class E felony, and fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a D felony. He allegedly was selling marijuana and prescription stimulants on the Clarkson campus and in the village.
Yells was arraigned before Potsdam Justice Pignone and released to probation supervision to appear in court at a later date.
Elizabeth R. Henkel, 20, Queensbury, N.Y., was charged at 3 p.m. with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, on Pierrepont Avenue. The SUNY Potsdam student was reportedly selling cocaine in the village.
She was arraigned and released to probation supervision to appear in court at a later date. The charge against her was subsequently reduced to a misdemeanor, she told NorthCountryNow.com.
The task force reported the investigation was ongoing and more arrests are pending.
