CANTON – Management personnel for St. Lawrence County will receive $500 retroactive payments for 2009 and pay raises for 2010 and 2011 in the proposed CSEA contract to be voted on by the county Board of Legislators this afternoon, according to Legislator Peter FitzRandolph of Canton.
The board has scheduled a vote on a proposed contract with its workers represented by CSEA for 4:45 p.m.
The Commissioner of Social Services, County Administrator, County Clerk, Director of Real Property, Economic Development Director, Personnel Officer, Sheriff, Conflict Defender, County Attorney, County Treasurer, Elections Commissioners, Highway Superintendent, and Public Defender each will get a $500 payment for retroactive pay in 2009, retroactive payments on raises for 2010, and increases for 2011.
Members of the public are invited to express their opinions on both the tentative contract and this resolution on administrative salaries during the public comment section of the meeting prior to the final vote.
Overall, managers' salaries appear to be increasing between 7 and 9 percent over two years, or about 3.5 percent to 4.5 percent a year, compared to the previously prevailing 2009 salaries.
CSEA members have approved the plan by a large margin, 497 to 43.
