CANTON – Members for a joint ethics committee have been chosen by the town and village boards here.
Former legislator and recent Democrat congressional candidate Tedra Cobb and Maryann Dimarco Temkin have been appointed by the town board.
Serving at the behest of the village will be Katie Halleron Murphy and Natasha Komarov, both of whom were appointed by village trustees in late November.
As a legislator, Cobb previously helped to draft the county’s Ethics Law which was passed in July 2009, said Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley.
The village has been working on developing a new ethics code for several months and a draft has been written. Several weeks ago, the town expressed interest in working on a comprehensive ethics code for both municipalities.
Ashley said the committee will work like a task force to research and present ideas for a finished draft of the code to the town and village boards for consideration.
