COLTON -- The Amvets Post 262 in Colton held a Frying Pan Toss on Jan. 28 at 11:30 a.m. to help support the Neighborhood Centers of Colton, Pierrepont, and Parishville.
Entry fees of $5 per participant were collected, totaling $100. A 50-50 drawing netted another $39 for a total of $139.
One of the first place winners, John Coffey, donated his $50 prize money back to the Amvets, making the overall total $189.
Prize winners in the under age 12 group were: First place, Sebastian Coffey and second place, Emma Coleman.
Women’s category: First place, Grace Hawley; second place, Barbara Bercume and third place, Anne Clarkson.
Men's category: First place, John Coffey; second place, Mike Crosley and third place, Danny Davis.
Prize money for the winners was donated by the Veteran’s Group at the post.
The event has become an annual event at the Town of Colton Winterfest.
