OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has added to their staff general surgeon Dr. Michael Oakley.
He has joined doctors Chris Brandy, Kiri Brandy and Noah Zuker at St. Lawrence Surgery located at 305 Main St.
Oakley comes to CHMC from his general surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.
He completed medical school at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine.
Oakley will perform scheduled and emergency surgeries, including intestinal, breast and hernia operations.
He will also perform minor outpatient procedures that can be done in the office, such as excisions of skin lesions and skin cancer.
He offers added proficiency in advanced laparoscopic surgery and dialysis vascular access, CHMC said.
During his training, Oakley earned more than a few awards, including administrative chief resident, and participated in several research publications and presentations. He also is an Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America.
He resides in Canton with his wife Sarah, and daughters Sola and Remi.
