POTSDAM – The Clarkson University Pep Band is celebrating 50 years of its support of Clarkson Hockey in 2014.
To commemorate anniversary, the Clarkson University Pep Band Alumni Association (CUPBAA) plans to award the first CUPBAA Scholarship to a deserving member of the Clarkson Pep Band during Reunion Weekend in July.
To date, CUPBAA has raised over $19,000 for the scholarship fund. Most of the funding has come directly from donations from pep band alumni and other supporters of the band. CUPBAA has also hosted a golf tournament, usually in the Albany area, for the past three years to provide funding for the scholarship. But this year the tournament is set for July 11 at the Potsdam Town and Country Club.
“We are looking for local businesses and supporters of Clarkson Hockey to sponsor a hole at the tournament,” said Kevin Graves, the association’s secretary. “The sponsorships provide advertising for the businesses while also funding our scholarship.”
To support the CUPBAA Scholarship Fund with a sponsorship, or to make a donation to the fund, contact Teresa Planty at 268-7810 or tplanty@clarkson.edu.
