POTSDAM -- A Clarkson student faces multiple charges after he allegedly fled the scene of a personal injury accident Wednesday night.
Ian R. Spurr, 18, was charged with speeds not reasonable and prudent, failure to give half of roadway to traffic and second-degree obstructing a governmental administration.
Police responded to Clarkson University after receiving report of a motor vehicle accident. Through on-scene investigation it was determined that Spurr was at fault for the accident.
Approximately two hours after the accident, it was reported that there were additional passengers in Spurr’s vehicle. which had left the scene prior to Patrols’ arrival.
Police responded to Spurr’s dormitory where he was taken into custody after he allegedly denied having the additional passengers in his vehicle; one of which was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment due to injuries sustained from the accident.
