OGDENSBURG -- The city government has launched a redesigned website at www.ogdensburg.org.

Ogdensburg’s new site offers up-to-date information with the goal of improving citizen engagement.

The site includes features and tools from CivicPlus, a leading municipal website designer.

The aim was to have an easy-to-use space where the public could get important information.

Some of the features are:

• access to jobs listings, bids sought, RFPs and RFQs

• automatic integration through Facebook and Twitter

• a central location to store and view agendas and minutes

• calendar of events and meetings

• news alerts to highlight current events, happenings and emergencies

Ogdensburg staff can maintain every aspect of the website from pages to online forms, news announcements to a searchable archive center. It also maintenance by staff in individual departments, which improves efficiency and aids in keeping all aspects of the site up to date.

“We want our citizens to have everything at their fingertips,” said City Manager Arthur J. Sciorra.

“Citizens will be able to find the answers to questions without the inconvenience of having to call when they are working, and they’ll also be able to sign up for updates, report concerns, and view information about all the projects that are important to them.”

The website is at www.ogdensburg.org.

The city would like citizens and press to subscribe to the News Alerts on the Notify Me features.
