The National Weather Service is warning that there is a risk of severe thunderstorms developing in the North Country late today, with a mixed weather bag through the week and into the Fourth of July weekend.
If thunderstorms do develop today, it will probably be after 4 p.m., the NWS says. They put the chance of rain at 60 percent throughout the county today, with rainfalls expected to range from a tenth to a quarter of an inch, and maybe more in thunderstorms.
High temperatures will reach about 80 degrees today, falling to about 60 overnight, with light to moderate winds. The chance of showers and thunderstorms diminishes after 3 a.m.
It will be cooler tomorrow and tomorrow night, with highs around 70 and lows around 50, with a 30 percent chance of showers.
Thursday, the sun is expected to dominate the skies with a high near 75. Skies are expected to remain clear Thursday night, with lows around 50.
Clear skies are expected Friday, with clouds and showers building in Friday night and Saturday. Temps on Friday will be near 75 during the day and around 60 at night.
The Weather Service is calling for a 30 percent chance of showers Saturday and Saturday night, with clouds clearing out Sunday and retuning Sunday night, with another 30 percent chance of showers on Monday, Independence Day.
