POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting Hockey Night in Potsdam.
The chamber will be selling hockey tickets to the Jan. 3 women’s game between the Clarkson and Boston College and the Men’s game on Jan. 4 between the Clarkson Golden Knights and UMASS Lowell.
Tickets for the women’s game are $4 each and the men’s tickets are $13 each and, through the generosity of Clarkson University, $10 from each men’s ticket sold will go back to the chamber.
There will also be a Ladies Night Expo from 6-8 pm on the night of the Women’s game, Jan. 3.
“We want people to come before the game to check out the vendors who will be offering great items or information that are women focused. The Potsdam Chamber has invited its members to set up at this event, and if space is still available, the chamber will open spaces to non chamber members for a small fee,” stated Chamber director Marylee Ballou.
“Tickets to either game will make a great gift for the hockey fans in the family or for employee incentives/rewards,” prompted Ms. Ballou. “Those who have chamber tickets will have the added bonus of being entered to win Potsdam Gift Certificates which we will give away at the games.”
Blevins Motors will once again sponsor the “Make the Shot, Win a Jeep” contest during the first intermission of the Clarkson Men’s game.
Three eligible chamber ticket holders are randomly selected to go onto the ice to try to shoot a puck from behind the red line through a slot on a board placed over the goal. The first to make the shot will win.
“The spectators and contestants really enjoyed this. Even though we haven’t had a winner yet, we have had a shot each year that had potential,” chamber board member Rob Bicknell said.
