COLTON -- A Cerebral Palsy Center of the North Country staffer is charged with a felony after allegedly throwing a developmentally disabled consumer into a chair.

Joseph P. Durham, 29, of DeKalb Junction is charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent person, a felony, troopers said.

He was charged Friday after an investigation that police say revealed Durham threw the consumer into a chair by the person’s gait vest.

The alleged victim was medically evaluated and found to be uninjured, police said.

Durham was released with an appearance ticket for Pierrepont Town Court, troopers said.
