Greg Carey scored a pair of goals and junior goaltender Robby Moss won his second start of the season with a 39-save night as St. Lawrence University's men's hockey team snapped a three-game losing skid and earned its first road win of the season with a 6-4 victory at Quinnipiac on Friday night.

The Saints, who had not scored more than four goals in a game since Nov. 6, had their most productive night of the season in a wild game which saw two of the lowest scoring teams in the ECAC combine for 10 goals. SLU improves to 3-7-2 overall and 3-3-0 in league play heading into a Saturday game at Princeton while Quinnipiac, which had won four straight in the series, is 7-7-1 overall and 3-4-0 in league play.

"It feels great to get the win and to have some success offensively," said Saint coach Joe Marsh. "We capitalized on our scoring chances and we haven't been doing that as frequently as we would like this season. Tonight is something we can build on."

The Saints took an early lead, fell behind and then came back to take the lead late in the second period. Carey's second of the night on a rocket after a turnover in the Quinnipiac end just 23 seconds into the third period turned out to be the game winner and gave the Saints a 5-3 lead, but it wasn't over until Aaron Bogosian, playing his first game since Oct. 30, scored into the empty net with 24.4 seconds left on the clock.

Two teams which have had trouble scoring had a wild first seven minutes as the Saints grabbed a 2-0 lead with goals just nine seconds apart three minutes into the game and Quinnipiac answered the second Saint goal just 17 seconds after it was scored. The Bobcats tied the game at 7:49 of the first, four seconds after the expiration of a power play and it stayed knotted at 2-2 despite two more Quinnipiac power play chances and a 19-7 Bobcat edge in shots on goal.

Carey, who had a hard wrist shot snagged by Quinnipiac goalie Eric Hartzell on the first rush of the game, opened the scoring when he snapped a hard shot from the right boards which beat Hartzell cleanly at the three minute mark. Jordan Dewey and Matt Raley assisted on the goal which was just the second first period goal for the Saints in the last seven games. The second Saint goal came just nine seconds later as a Bobcat defender lost an edge and the puck in the defensive zone and Pete Child tapped the loose puck to Kyle Essery, who scored his second in as many games with a shot along the ice which went in off Hartzell's pads at 3:09.

The Bobcats got one back as they broke into the Saint zone following Essery's goal and Jeremy Langlois snapped a goal-mouth pass across the crease to Russell Goodman, who one-timed it past Moss at 3:26 to complete a stretch of three goals in just 26 seconds. Quinnipiac then scored the tying goal just four seconds after its first power play opportunity of the game expired as Langlois tucked the puck under Moss in a scramble in the Saint goal mouth for his third of the season and a 2-2 tie at 7:49.

Another goal just seconds after the end of a Bobcat power play made it a 3-2 game 7:02 into the second as Scott Zurevinski deflected a shot from the point by defenseman Zach Davies past Moss. Saints tied it again as sophomore defenseman George Hughes scored his first of the season with a hard shot along the ice which snuck between Hartzell and the post with Kyle Flanagan and Max Mobley assisting at 11:21 and SLU took the lead scoring on its first power play chance of the game at 16:43. The 30-second power play took just 20 seconds to convert as Kyle Flanagan sent a shot wide which bounced off the end boards and right back to Flanagan who scored his fourth of the year into an empty net as Hartzell got caught out of the net .

Carey scored his second of the game and seventh of the year on a point blank wrist shot to make it 5-3 to start the third period against Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke, but the Bobcats kept it interesting as Zach Davies scored his first season with a shot along the ice at 5:54 to cut the lead to 5-4.

Quinnipiac pulled Clarke for an extra attacker, and Moss, making his first start since the first NCAA game of the year on Oct. 8, made two big saves before Bogosian iced it with the empty netter.
