CANTON -- Two Canton teens were charged Wednesday with multiple felonies following an investigation of rocks being thrown at vehicles and cattle being let loose on the highway, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
David P. Flanagan, 17 and Joshua H. Jackson, 16, both of Canton were both charged with three counts of second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal mischief and first-degree reckless endangerment, all felonies, officers said.
Flanagan was additionally charged with reckless endangerment of property, deputies said.
Deputies say that on June 20 and 21 Flanagan and Jackson intentionally damaged a vehicle behind Frazer Motors by throwing several rocks at it.
The two teens then went to the overpass on U.S. Highway 11 North of Canton and threw rocks at several vehicles driving under the overpass causing damage to the vehicles and a reckless situation, officers said.
The teens then allegedly opened up a gate to a pasture on Judson Street where several cattle were let loose and went onto the road.
Both subjects were reportedly arraigned in Canton Town Court by Justice Kathleen O’Horo and released on their own recognizance to reappear in court at a later date.
Deputies say their investigation is continuing and more arrests are pending.
