CANTON -- A car rear-ended a Canton school bus at a stop sign Tuesday.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies said a northbound Canton Central school bus being driven by Alan D. Todd, 60, of Ogdensburg, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of County Routes. 27 and 25 in Canton, when a 2008 Suzuki sedan driven by Alexis B. Cassidy, 25, of 160 Rowley St., Gouverneur, failed to stop on the snow-covered road behind the bus.
Deputies said the car clipped the bus's rear bumper on the right-hand side, scraped the car's entire driver's side, and the car continued through the intersection.
There were no passengers on the bus, and no one was hurt, deputies said.
Cassidy was given a ticket for failing to reduce speed due to special hazards. She will answer the charge in Canton Town Court.
