CANTON – Police are seeking help from the public to identify a suspect they believe walked out of a Dollar General store with a basket of merchandise without paying for it.
The alleged theft occurred Feb. 2 at about 12:45 p.m. from the Dollar General in the University Plaza, East Main St., according to Patrolman Ryan Cole.
In addition to the merchandise in the basket, the male suspect is believed to also have had a package of diapers with him when he left the store.
Police are circulating a security camera photo of the suspect and another one of the car he is believed to have used.
Police are asking anyone who can identify the male and the car to call them at 315-386-4561.
