CANTON – A Canton man has won a day of fishing with noted angler Don Meissner.
Harold Berube won the drawing held last month during the Waddington Block Party that celebrated the community’s second-place finish in the World Fishing Network’s Ultimate Fishing Town contest.
Meissner, left, met Berube in Canton recently to coordinate the excursion. The two plan to fish the Grasse River for a day next month.
They are standing in front of Meissner's Jeep, which carries the logo of FISHCAP, the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce initiative to promote the region as the fishing capital of the world.
Meissner is FISHCAP coordinator.
