CANTON -- Three face gang assault charges after attacking a delivery person and stealing money, pizza and wings from the victim.
Canton Village Police say Edward S. Garcia, 20, of Bronx, Derek L. Castillo, 20, of Manhattan and Arcenio Vazquez, 19, of Bronx were charged with second-degree robbery and gang assault, both are class C felonies.
A fourth suspect allegedly participated in beating but has not yet been charged.
Canton police say they responded to Mountain Mart at 12:26 a.m. to a reported assault.
Officers say a pizza delivery person for Domino's made a delivery to Prospect Street and Ike Noble Drive in the village when he was assaulted by four males.
The victim was punched, kicked and knocked to the ground and the attackers allegedly stole $15 in cash, a pizza and chicken wings.
The victim was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Canton Rescue where he was treated for facial lacerations, a fractured orbital bone, and a severe concussion.
The three subjects were arraigned before Judge O’Horo and remanded to jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected. Canton Village Police were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. and SUNY Canton.
