CANTON -- Canton Central is inviting everyone to wear red, white and blue Wednesday to support the U.S. men's Olympic ice hockey team and Canton native Jordan Greenway.
This month is African-American History Month, and at the middle school at Canton Central, fifth graders have been studying Jackie Robinson and other famous African-Americans.
But, they have been following the story of the first African-American on the U.S. Olympic hockey team too.
Greenway, a former Canton Central student, will break the color barrier by being the first African-American player to play for U.S. hockey in the Olympics.
The U.S. men's Olympic hockey game will start at 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday against Slovenia.
The game will be shown prior to the start of school at Canton Central.
