BRUSHTON -- A Brushton man died on Wednesday night as a result of injuries sustained in a Tuesday night car collision.
Benjamin M. Andre, 23, was pronounced dead at University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, Vt. at 10:23 p.m., according to state police.
Dr. Steven Shapiro performed an autopsy and determined he died due to blunt impact to the head. The manner of death was ruled accidental, police said.
On Tuesday night around 9:15 p.m., troopers say they responded to a two-car crash on state Route 11B in Malone.
A 2001 Toyota Tacoma operated by Andre was traveling east when he lost control and crossed into the path of a westbound vehicle, a 2000 Ford F150, driven by 45-year-old William H. Brown of North Bangor. Unable to avoid the collision, Brown’s vehicle struck the passenger side door of Andre’s vehicle, according to troopers.
Andre and Brown were initially transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. Both were later sent to Burlington, troopers said.
Brown is listed in critical condition with several internal injuries, according to troopers.
