BRASHER FALLS -- The Brasher Beavers ended their season with a win at the Chicks W/Sticks Tournament in Scottsville, N.Y. this past weekend.
The Beavers made it to the final game by beating the Buffalo Saberettes 6-4 on Friday, Chicks w/Sticks 7-1 on Saturday, and Webster Slapshot Sisters 2-1 on Sunday.
They faced the Saberettes again for the championship in a physical back and forth game. Danielle Colterman opened up the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the second period. The Saberettes scored right after to tie it up. Jodi White scored for the Beavers pulling them ahead again to end the second period. The Saberettes scored half way through the third to tie it up before Natalie Gravlin buried the winner with 1:08 remaining in the third.
The Beavers will kick off their 2014-15 season at the 6th Annual Droppin the Gloves on Cancer tournament held at the Tri-Town Arena in October.
