POTSDAM – The Boy Scouts of America Northern Lights District will host a district-wide merit badge training day Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Latter Day Saints Church, 21 Castle Dr.
Eight merit badges will be offered in two sessions – nuclear energy, robotics, fingerprinting, crime prevention, fire aid, citizenship in the nation and citizenship in the world. Instruction for camping and fly fishing will be held in Sandstoner Park at Pine Street Arena.
The event, a cooperative effort between Potsdam troops 77 and 95, can accommodate up to 120 scouts. There are more than 200 active scouts in the Northern Lights District and district leaders hope the event helps recruit new scouts.
