MASSENA -- Boutique Air starting June 1 will fly to Boston from Massena International Airport.
Boutique recently received federal approval to scrap their flights from Massena to Baltimore and Albany in favor of Boston. The company needed federal approval because their Massena flights are subsidized through the Essential Air Service program, which pays airlines to fly in and out of rural airports that otherwise would not have service.
The Town Council in March voted to support their bid.
The new Boston flights start at $49 one way for economy class. There are also taxes and fees added to the price.
The company’s website is https://www.boutiqueair.com.
Town Supervisor Steve O’Shaughnessy did not immediately return a request for comment.
