OGDENSBURG -- An autopsy will be held tomorrow to officially determine the cause of death of an inmate at Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg last night.
St. Lawrence County Coroner Kevin Crosby said he was called to the state prison this morning “for a deceased male who suffered a stab wound to the chest.”
He said an autopsy is to be performed tomorrow at Albany Medical Center.
New York State Police are investigating the incident with the state Department of Corrections.
State police have confirmed the death of the inmate in a stabbing at the jail.
Neither his identity nor the identity of his alleged attacker have been released so far.
The circumstances of the attack remain under investigation.
