April showers to continue into May, with rain expected through Thursday, Saturday in St. Lawrence Valley

St. Lawrence County residents can expect to get a bit wet over the coming days, as rain is forecast from tonight through Saturday, with the exception of Friday.

There is a 70-percent chance of rain tonight, the National Weather Service says, with temperatures expected to be in the low 40s. Temperatures will be around 38 degrees in the mountain areas.

There is a 100-percent chance of rain tomorrow, according to the NWS, with an 80 to 90-percent chance on Wednesday night.

High temperatures are predicted in the low-50s tomorrow, with lows tomorrow night around 45 degrees.

On Thursday, there is a 60-percent chance of rain during the daylight hours, with a 30-percent chance at night. There is a slightly higher chance in the mountains.

Temperatures in all areas are forecast to be in the low-60s during the day and in the low-40s during the night.

The rain and moderate temperatures could continue through Friday, with the precipitation stopping at night and returning on Saturday.

The NWS forecast for St. Lawrence County:

• Late Afternoon A 30 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Breezy, with an east wind around 20 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Tonight Rain likely, mainly between 8pm and 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 43. East wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

• Wednesday Rain, mainly after 9am. High near 51. East wind 9 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

• Wednesday Night Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 45. Southeast wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

• Thursday Showers likely, mainly before 11am. The rain could be heavy at times. Cloudy, with a high near 64. East wind 6 to 15 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

• Thursday Night A chance of showers before 11pm, then a chance of showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Southwest wind 11 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Friday A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Southwest wind 10 to 13 mph.
