The mother of a Fort Covington man who has been missing for almost a year is renewing her call for help in locating him.

Jason M. Wing was 21 when he was first reported missing Aug. 29, 2010. He was last seen in the Hopkinton area late that month, according to state police.

Despite the efforts of state and local police in several North Country counties, including St. Lawrence, his whereabouts is still unknown.

His mother, Roxanne Stratton, in a letter to the editor, is asking the public not to give up on finding her son.

"I am hoping that someone will help us find him," she writes. "The heartache and pain that his family and I have been going through...not knowing where he is. Please we need help in finding him."

Stratton wrote that 'missing' posters are still posted in many locations and the police have not officially closed the case. But she's hoping someone has the smallest shred of information that will lead to her son.

"This is a mother's cry for help," she writes.

According to state police, Jason is 5’8” tall and approximately 165 lbs with short brown hair and brown eyes.

He has several tattoos on his arms and legs and his lips are pierced. He is known to frequent areas in St. Lawrence and Franklin counties.

The last reported contact with anyone was possibly in late October, via cell phone, authorities say.

Anyone who might have information about Wing is asked to contact the state police at (315) 379-0012.

Anyone who has had contact with him since August is also asked to contact the state police.
