POTSDAM -- Approximately 80 people turned out for the Air Force ROTC 9/11 memorial run Sunday morning.
Members of AFROTC, Army ROTC and the Clarkson University cross-country team, along with local civilians, showed up at Ives Park in Potsdam to mark the 10-year anniversary of 9/11.
The entire group ran in a loose formation with the American Flag and the POW/MIA flag at the front.
The route took them down Main Street across the Raquette River, up the large hill on the corner of Maple Street and Clarkson Avenue into the Clarkson University campus.
From there they ran around the campus, past the 9/11 Memorial and back down to Ives Park.
Runners started together and finished together to mark their solidarity as Americans, military and civilian, and in spite of many cultural differences, said Air Force Capt. Tim Henley.
Staff Sergeant Kevin Alexander and Cadet Tim Sick were event organizers.
