The National Weather Service is predicting a maximum of over a foot of snow for St. Lawrence County by Thursday night.
Meteorologists expect snowfall to begin Wednesday, with daytime accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. NWS says snowfall will increase at night, with another 3 to 7 inches predicted to fall by Thursday.
They expect another 1 to 2 inches on Thursday. The NWS website does not have accumulation predictions listed for Thursday night, but they say there is a 40 percent chance of more snow showers before midnight.
Temperatures are predicted at a high around freezing Wednesday, dropping to the mid-teens that night. Thursday’s high temperatures is forecast at 17 with nighttime lows getting down to -5 degrees.
Friday and Saturday are predicted to be cold, with highs peaking at 6 degrees Friday and 8 degrees Saturday, with respective nighttime lows at -9 and -4.

Tuesday night - Rain before 4am, then rain and snow likely. Low around 31. Light and variable wind becoming north around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Wednesday - Snow, mainly before 1pm, then snow showers after 1pm. High near 32. West wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Wednesday night - Snow showers. Low around 16. Northwest wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
Thursday - Snow showers likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 17. West wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Thursday night - A 40 percent chance of snow showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -5. West wind 11 to 13 mph.
Friday - Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 6. West wind around 8 mph.
Friday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around -9. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Saturday - Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 8. Light west wind.
