NORWOOD -- The Kid’s Bass Fishing Tournament held Saturday, July 21 by the Norwood American Legion on Norwood Lake drew 51 young anglers ages 5 through 15.
After the noon weigh-in, a buffet luncheon of hot dogs, hamburgers, salad, chips, cookies and juice was enjoyed by all, including parents. Trophies were awarded to the winners and all participants enjoyed prizes such as fishing poles, tackle boxes, minnow buckets, battery lanterns, tents, and camping equipment.
Ryan Curtis won the trophy for the largest bass, weighing in at 1.12 pounds.
The five-fish total weight challenge was won by Madyson Michaud, 3.0 pounds; Austin Ward took second place with 1.3 pounds; Ryan Curtis placed third with 1.12 pounds; and Madilyn Denine took fourth place.
This was a catch-and-release event.
The raffle grand prize, a tent, two cots, two sleeping bags, two chairs with poles, tackle box, cooler, minnow buckets, charcoal grill and lantern, was won by 11-year-old Caleb Haggett.
