CANTON -- A 19-year-old Massena driver with six current suspensions on his license was charged Sunday with felony aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated.
He was also found to be wanted on a warrant for failing to make restitution.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies said they saw a vehicle driven by Derek J. Ober, 7 Amherst Rd., Massena, leaving the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility at about 10:15 p.m. without its lights on.
After stopping the vehicle, deputies said they believed Ober was intoxicated.
They checked his license records and found that there are six suspensions on his license.
Ober was charged with first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, and driving without lights.
Deputies said his blood alcohol level tested at .08 percent.
During processing, an outstanding warrant against Ober for failing to make restitution.
He was arraigned before Stockholm Town Justice Williams and sent to the county lockup for 15 days or until restitution is paid.
